Description: The scaphoid is the most commonly fractured bone in the carpus (ie, wrist), and, frequently, the diagnosis of a scaphoid fracture is delayed. A delay in the diagnosis and treatment of this fracture may alter the prognosis for union and dramatically increase the long-term likelihood of arthritis
