Description: This case demonstrates one of the potential pitfalls that can arise with elbow dislocations. Although this may have been initially perceived as a straightforward presentation of a simple elbow dislocation, had reduction been attempted, the risks for potential neurovascular compromise were significant. Despite recommendations for early reduction, the potential risks outweighed the benefit. Careful screening resulted in avoidance of further displacement of the radial-head fracture, which could cause further neurovascular damage.
