Description: Staphylococcal infections of orthopedic implants are usually treated with combination antibiotics. But Spanish researchers have shown that oral moxifloxacin used alone is a safe and effective treatment. "The number of included patients was relatively limited and therefore extrapolation of our results should be done with caution," Dr.Rafael San Juan Garrido and colleagues from the Hospital Universitario "Doce de Octubre", Madrid, say in their September 20th online report in Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy.
