The Section of Orthopaedic Surgery was established at the University of Manitoba in 1907, with Dr. H.P.H. Galloway as the first Chair.
The Faculty now comprises 18 full-time members, 17 residents, and four Fellows, including specialists in Spine, Arthroplasty, Sports, Trauma, Upper Extremity, and Pediatrics.
The Section of Orthopaedic Surgery operates out of five main sites: Health Sciences Centre (Spine and Trauma), Children’s Hospital (Pediatrics), Pan Am Clinic and Victoria Hospital (Sports and Upper Extremity), and Concordia Hospital (Arthroplasty).
