Description: This exciting 3 day intensive course combines an intensive didactic and hands-on surgical experience exploring total hip arthroplasty. The focus is on the practical aspects of current approaches to performing both primary and revision hip arthroplasty. A uniquely selected faculty has been assembled to provide the attendees with a state of the art summary of what is both new as well as useful in the field. Small group hands-on training help facilitate what is discussed in the didactic sessions. The registrant will update his/her knowledge of preoperative planning for both primary and revision THR, as well as recognition of and methods to deal with problems following THR such as dislocation, infection, fracture or osteolysis. This unique lab setting allows exposure to new methods of performance of primary THR including surgical approaches as well as the opportunity to learn the latest techniques of managing difficult femoral and acetabular revision surgery. Daily working lunches allow attendees to bring their own cases for discussion among the highly experienced faculty.
