We are pleased to announce that the OWL MetaSearch tool is now out of beta. The OWL MetaSearch Engine searches several major search engines at once. It then collects and sorts the hits, takes out duplicates, and presents the end result in a simple format. All this means that there is higher chance you will find what you are looking for. To ensure a fast response we will give you the results from the most essential search engines and directories first (includes Google, Yahoo!, Ask Jeeves/Teoma, MSN, and a couple of others). While I admit that for the most part I use Google for my routine, day to day searching, I have found that Yahoo!, MSN and Teoma each provide useful results and on several occassions provide more accurate results than Google. Not one search engine covers more than 30% of the entire Web. The differences between the search results from the major search engines (Google, Yahoo!, MSN) for orthopedic searches are significant and can lead to an inability to find pertinent resources. The bottomline is that if you are only searching using one of the major search engines, more often than not you will miss a worthwhile resource. If you have any questions about OWL MetaSearch let me know.
