As an academic in orthopaedic surgery, the first step in evaluate a bone tumor is a plain x-ray. A plain x-ray can give you enough information to have diagnosis. If you have age, site and x - ray you have a lot. Of course a CTscan, MRI are helpful, but is more convenience start form the beginning and not for middle. Regards.
