[Orthopod] FW: Floating knee part 2 Can't Post

  

Anticipated problems.

1. what do we hold on to? Especially on the tibia, it looks like a sliver of
the articular surface with nothing underneath.

2. how to cover the knee. I would have done an acute shortening if the wound
had been on bone, but this is centered on the joint.

3. if we use a fixator, as will be most likely, how to do soft tissue cover.
Also, if I am forced to use a ring fixator above and below, the problem
becomes even more difficult.

4. can we reconstruct the extensor apparatus? If yes now or later? Should we
stabilise the patella now to prevent retraction?

5. will it heal?

6. any movements possible in the future?
