Thin-wire ex-fix and Poller screws/wires supplement each other.
The fixator allows not to use such invasive tricks like semi-extended
knee and extended approach. Lateral point of inserton also becomes not
so critical. Anyway we should prevent the nail to go laterally and
posteriorly in the short fragment. So Pollers are very helpful.

Ex-fix and Poller wires are removed after locking of the proximal
fragment with 3-4 screws, 2 of which are 45 degrees. So slipping is
not a problem.
