The green-stick (Distal metaphhyseal radius) is a incomplete fracture
for
immobilization alone. (deCourtivron, MD. Tours, France)
Age 4-10 acceptable sagital plane deviation for conservative
treatment: Boys: 20, Girls: 15, frontal plane: 15.
The remodeling potential is extremely high.
If a closed reduction is mandatory, the immobilization is in supination
(neutralize the deforming force of brachioradialis in pronation)

Paediatric Wrist Angulation

Dear members

Just a straw poll of opinion

Would you accept non-operative management (no further manipulation) of a
distal radius greenstick fracture (metaphyseal) of say 10 degrees VOLAR
tilt in a 6 years old?

How about 13 years old?

What if the fracture is complete?

Appreciate your input
