Dear list members,

sorry, I am re-sending this as I think the first attempt had too large
an attachment, and I just managed to shrink it down a bit. If it comes
thru later, I apologize in advance for clogging your inboxes!

attached is a (large -- sorry) .ppt of an anterior femoral head
fx-dislocation with what I think is a stable pelvic ring injury in a
300+ lb 50y.o. lady struck by a car last night. dislocation has been
closed reduced but remains non-concentric with displaced head fragment
and comminution in the joint.

question is approach to L hip - anterior or posterior? dislocation was
anterior but free frag is posterior. fragment is anterosuperior so my
instinct is to go anteriorly to make fixation easier.
