I have seen a child with dermatomyositis with a similar xray

Could be several things
tumoral calcinosis (common in people of African descent)
Calcinosis Universalisis
Hypervitaminosis D
Milk alkali syndrome
possibly fat necrosis of the newborn
trauma
connective tissue diseases
Check Calcium, Phos, parathyroid levels, hyperparathyroid (primary or secondary)
Any other Hx - such as prolonged hospitalization, family Hx, etc?
