Dear colleagues A colleague of mine requests advices on management of the presentd case. A female 24 y.o with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis was operated in July 2004 - THA (DePuy AML). All was OK, the patien was satisfied. June 2006 - in a car accident in sustained periprosthetic shaft fracture. Two weeks later ORIF with Bridge Plate (DePuy) was performed. 3 month on crutcjes, then started to increase weight-bearing. 6 month later the deformation was obvious. The current plan is to perform ORIF with longer plate og the same design with bone grafting and/or bone substitutes like MIIG, IGNITE, ALLOMATRIX. Is the plan reasonable, maybe any alternative exists? Any other treatment modalities? Can somebody share results of such Bridge plating? THX for your suggestions. -- Best regards, Alexander N.
