A cross post from the AAST list by Will Chapleau, Chicago Delivered-To: wdburman@frontiernet.net List-Post: <mailto:trauma-l@lists.aast.org> Date: Thu, 01 Sep 2005 11:52:12 -0400 From: wchapleau@aol.com Subject: Re: Norman's getting out MIME-Version: 1.0 To: trauma-l@lists.aast.org, PHTLS-R@naemt.org, NAEMT-L@naemt.org, traumanurses@listserve.com I just got off the phone with Norman (McSwain) - He needs help. Apparently, Merry was not correct about patients getting out of Charity. Tulane is evacuating and will finish today but only 8 patients have made it out of Charity. He is asking us to get the word out that there are 250 patients and staff at Charity that are living on fruit Juice. Patients are dying, the rest are in soiled sheets and it's 110 degrees down there. They have not heard from the governor or the national guard and while people are getting out of the dome, no-one is getting out of Charity or University Hospital. If you can get the words to media outlets please do. Norman will leave Tulane with the last patient today as he feels he can do more on the outside Chief Will Chapleau EMT-P, RN, TNS Chicago Heights Fire Department 83 East Joe Orr Road Chicago Heights, Illinois 60411 USA 708-756-5370 fax 708-756-5358 -----Original Message----- From: WChapleau@aol.com To: PHTLS-R@naemt.org; NAEMT-L@naemt.org; trauma-l@lists.aast.org; traumanurses@listserve.com Sent: Wed, 31 Aug 2005 21:20:30 EDT Subject: Norman's getting out I just got off the phone with Merry McSwain, They flew 160 patients out of Charity today. Norman is scheduled to fly out with the last patients tomorrow morning to Lafayette. He told Merry that this has been the longest 30 hours of his life. As for the TNS coordinator, I haven't heard of her directly but the staff is getting out with the patients. Will --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by Declude Virus]
