[ORT-L] Clopidogrel/plavix and hip fracture surgery - revisited Can't Post

Dear All,

5 years ago the question about plavix and spinal anesthesia was
briefly discussed (http://www.hwbf.org/hwb/conf/tuck1/plavix.htm). I'd
like to learn about current state of the art in your practice.

1) Do you discontinue plavix/clopidogrel 7-10 days prior to for
instance nailing or DHS fixation of throch fractures?
There is a paper from recent OTA meeting on the topic
http://www.hwbf.org/ota/am/ota08/otapo/OTP08075.htm - is that common
approach? And it doesn't include data about anesthesia so another
queston is

2) How about spinal anestihesia on plavix in your practice?
THX in advance.
