Dr. Abshire joined the neurosurgical faculty at UCSD in 2000. His area of special expertise includes disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Specifically, he is skilled in complex re-operative spine with spinal instrumentation. He also enjoys a busy general neurosurgical practice performing surgery for brain tumors and cerebrovascular disease.
