Description: This subungual lesion usually presents as a painful mass localized dorsomedially, often associated with elevation and ultimately ulceration of the nail plate and bed (Kilpatrick et al., 1997). It may occur at any age, but most often in patients between 15 and 25 years of age, without sex predominance. Pain and swelling are the main symptoms. Simple excision is the treatment of choice. Recurrences have been described.
